Update app settings

You can change your app's configuration at any time from the Settings tab.

Editable fields

  • Repository URL -- change which repo is deployed
  • Branch -- switch the deploy branch (e.g. main to production)
  • Project path -- subdirectory within the repo where your Django project lives
  • App protocol -- switch between WSGI and ASGI
  • Python version -- change the Python version used in the virtualenv
  • Package manager -- switch between pip, uv, Poetry, or Pipenv
  • App module -- your WSGI/ASGI entry point
  • Settings module -- your production Django settings module
  • Start command -- how your app serves (gunicorn/uvicorn/... flags)
  • Release command -- the per-deploy steps (collectstatic, migrate, ...)
  • Frontend directory / passthrough -- SPA build dir served by nginx + API prefixes
  • Push to deploy -- auto-deploy on push to your branch (on by default)

What you can't change

Domain is locked after creation. Changing a domain requires moving the on-disk directory, rewriting nginx configs, and reissuing SSL certificates. This will be supported in a future version.

When do changes take effect?

Settings changes are saved immediately but only affect your next deploy. The running version of your app is not changed until you trigger a new deployment.

Steps

  1. Go to your app's Settings tab
  2. Edit the fields you need to change
  3. Click Save
  4. Deploy to apply the changes
